This month, the Rif Care team spent a meaningful day volunteering alongside The Pad Project, Altadena Girls, and the CAA Foundation to support students impacted by the 2025 Los Angeles wildfires.
Together, we came together for a community volunteer day dedicated to assembling menstrual care kits for local students. The goal was simple but powerful: ensure that young people have access to essential period products so they can focus on school, healing, and rebuilding after crisis.

Rif Care was honored to donate thousands of pads to support this effort. These products will be distributed across five public schools in the Altadena area, where each school requested approximately 1,000 menstrual products for their students.
Why This Work Matters
Across Los Angeles County, access to menstrual products remains a real barrier for many students. Organizations like The Pad Project are leading the charge to change that reality. To date, the organization has distributed over 1 million menstrual products across Los Angeles County, helping ensure that menstruation never prevents someone from attending school or participating fully in their community.
At the same time, groups like Altadena Girls are working to support teen girls in deeper ways. Today’s girls face unprecedented challenges — including rising levels of anxiety, isolation, and self-doubt. In fact, 1 in 3 teen girls report feeling persistent sadness.
Altadena Girls provides a safe and supportive space where girls can access essentials, connect with mentors, and build community — especially during times of crisis and recovery.
Building Kits, Building Community
During the volunteer day, participants worked side-by-side assembling menstrual care kits filled with pads and other essentials. These kits will go directly to students affected by the wildfires, helping ensure they have access to basic care as their communities rebuild.
Moments like this remind us that small actions — packing kits, donating products, showing up — add up to something much bigger.

Looking Ahead
At Rif Care, we believe menstrual care is more than a product — it’s a pathway to dignity, confidence, and opportunity.
We’re grateful to partner with organizations like The Pad Project and Altadena Girls, and we look forward to continuing to support their incredible work in Los Angeles and beyond!
